FEBRUARY 2020 GEM OF THE MONTH

ALONJÉ HAMILTON is a Freshman at Marietta High School. She is an Honor Roll student and talented athlete that actively participates in cheer and track. She is currently proud of her role as a cheer captain!
Alonjé aspires to attend a Historically Black College & University (HBCU), preferably North Carolina A & T State University and continue running track. AGGIE PRIDE!!! 💛💙💛💙

Alonjé’s vision for making a difference in the world is to become a phenomenal leader in her community. She understands that a positive leader is one who encourages others to do what’s right by exemplifying that through her own actions and decisions. She also pushes others to achieve their goals successfully. Alonjé believes that having a positive attitude/mentality is contagious; it’s a trend that permeates to others within your reach and when others see you lead by example, they’ll start to do so as well. She hopes to bring change to the world and is determined to make a difference by creating more black businesses to create opportunities for other women. We are proud to highlight Alonjé as she develops into the leader and GEM that will positively impact the world! 💕💜💕

DECEMBER 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

ZOE SHEALEY is a Sophomore at Southwest Dekalb High School. She is an Honor Roll student that actively participates in extracurricular activities. She's on the swim team, volleyball team and also a member of TGI Technology (Teen Girls in Technology).

Zoe is also a Gifted Magnet Student. 
She attended Tennessee State University's N.S.T.I. Summer Pre-Collegiate program. Her plan after high school is to attend college and major in Business. 

Zoe loves her family and friends and has a heart for God, She is a member of Ray of Hope Christian Church. Zoe will make a difference in the world by creating more black businesses to create opportunities for other women. 

Zoe was the winner of our Entrepreneurship 101 workshop's Fast-Pitch contest, where she shared her ideas about providing affordable healthcare for impoverished women. She is a smart, confident, and articulate young lady who will go far in life!  💕💜💕

NOVEMBER 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

SHAKYLA BROWN is in the 7th grade and attends North Clayton Middle School. She maintains an Honor Roll status every marking period. She is very smart and pays close attention to detail. When she is not focusing on academics, she enjoys volunteering and learning more about animals. She is confident and sweet. 

Shakyla’s career goals are to attend college to become a veterinarian. She wants to provide care and love for animals. She currently has 2 dogs, a turtle, and a Parakeet that she nurtures.

Shakyla has a personal relationship with God and loves others. She has a heart for others, learning God’s Word, and being a great person. She loves to assist the less fortunate by volunteering in the community.

Shakyla plans to make a difference in the world by helping abandoned animals find a safe home and ensure they have proper medical care! 💕💜💕

OCTOBER 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

HEAVEN LEE BROWN is a freshman at North Clayton High School. She is in the Honors Chorus and has been awarded Most-Improved in Mathematics. When she is not focusing on academics, she enjoys singing, sketching, volunteering, and public speaking. She is confident and expresses herself very well.
Heaven’s goals after high school are to attend American Intercontinental University (AIU) to pursue a career as a fashion designer. She wants to design clothing that allows others to feel confident and look stylish.
Heaven has a personal relationship with God and loves others. She has a heart for others, learning God’s Word, and being a great person. She also enjoys singing and dancing.

Heaven makes a difference in the world by spreading positivity and raising awareness for people with invisible disabilities! 💕💜💕

SEPTEMBER 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

JAZMYNE ESQUIBEL is a senior and Dual Enrollment student at a local community college. She is preparing for academic success by studying for the ACT/SAT. She also works with mentors and does internships. She is pursuing a career in cosmetology.

Jazmyne’s goals after high school are to open up a beauty bar that has a beauty supply store, beauticians, lash artists and nail technicians. This will create opportunities for other talented stylists in her community.

Jazmyne attends Word of Faith Church. She has a heart for others, learning God’s Word, and being a great person. She also enjoys singing and dancing.

Jazmyne makes a difference in the world by leading by example and speaking up for herself and others. Although she may second guess herself at times, she is confident that she is amazing in every way and wants other girls to see their inside beauty as well! 💕💜💕

APRIL 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

KATELYN MICHELLE PAXTON is a honor student and senior at Cordova High School. She is actively involved in her school’s choir and has received many awards.

Katelyn attends Anointed Temple of Praise Church where she is both active in the sanctuary and youth choirs. Katelyn also serves in the youth ministry and loves to help wherever its needed.

Katelyn has been accepted into several colleges and universities. Although she hasn’t made a final decision, she is positive that she will be well equipped to follow her dreams. She plans to work in the psychology field where she plans to equip children with the necessary tools they need in order to succeed while in grades k-12.
Katelyn enjoys singing, learning God’s Word, and snap chatting in her spare time.

MARCH 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

KENDALL FAITH PAXTON is a freshman at Cordova High School where she is in all honors classes. She has a beautiful voice! She participates in her school’s choir and has received many honors.

Kendall attends Anointed Temple of Praise Church where she is both active in the sanctuary and youth choirs. She also serves in the youth ministry. She enjoys singing, learning God’s Word, and snap chatting in her spare time.


Although Kendall has not decided on which college she plans to attend, her ambition is to become a lawyer.

FEBRUARY 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

TEYONA GIBBS is a senior at North Clayton High School. She continues to strive for excellence and is in the top 25 of her class. Teyona also participates in track and field and is involved with several organizations, such as, DECA, math club, National Honor Society and Cultivating GEMS.

Teyona will graduate in May 2019 with an Associate's degree in General Studies from Georgia Military College. After graduating from high school, she plans to attend Toccoa Falls Christian College in northeast Georgia and major in Biology. She will continue her education in medical school to become an obstetrician-gynecologist, OB-GYN. She desires to help and educate women about their health.

For the past 2 years, Teyona has worked at Wayfield Foods, where she has received several promotions. She has also worked at the Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Teyona is passionate about growing her relationship with Christ and attends World Changers International Church. Her light is one that cannot be hidden. She inspires everyone around her!

JANUARY 2019 GEM OF THE MONTH

TRINITY THOMPSON is a sophomore at Miller Grove High School. She serves at herclass and with an Associates degree. She is also a member of the National Honors Society, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Student Government Association (SGA), JUMP, Cultivating Gems, and math club. Jessica holds leadership roles as the Ambassador of the World Language Club, President of F.L.Y Life, and Vice-president of DECA. She has also participated in extracurricular activities, such as cross country and soccer.


She is a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and enjoys helping others! Her entrepreneurial spirit and determination will take her far in life!


Her plans after high school are to attend college, major in biology and become an OBGYN. Jessica also dreams of opening her own boutique store featuring her own products, Majesstic Organics. We are proud to have her as a GEM!
