DECEMBER 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

JESSICA EGUAVOEN is a senior at North Clayton High School. She will graduate in May 2019 in the top 25 of her class and with an Associates degree. She is also a member of the National Honors Society, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Student Government Association (SGA), JUMP, Cultivating Gems, and math club. Jessica holds leadership roles as the Ambassador of the World Language Club, President of F.L.Y Life, and Vice-president of DECA. She has also participated in extracurricular activities, such as cross country and soccer.

She is a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and enjoys helping others! Her entrepreneurial spirit and determination will take her far in life!

Her plans after high school are to attend college, major in biology and become an OBGYN. Jessica also dreams of opening her own boutique store featuring her own products, Majesstic Organics. We are proud to have her as a GEM!

NOVEMBER 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

MARIAH HOLTON is a junior at Apalachee High School and currently enrolled in the Dual Enrollment program at Lanier Technical College, where she able to receive college credits! She is passionate about learning and strives for excellence in all that she does. She is also active with the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and other organizations.

Mariah enjoys meditating and prayer time in the mornings. Her spirit and sweet nature is an absolute joy to be around. She is a member of Apalachee Shoals Baptist Church.

Her plans after high school are to attend college and obtain her doctorate in Nursing and Business. She desires to become a pediatrician and open her own practice! We are proud to have her as a GEM!

OCTOBER 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

DE'NAISHA GLASS is a senior at North Clayton High School and in the top 25 of her graduating class! She will graduate in May 2019 with an Associate degree in General Studies from Georgia Military College. After graduating high school, she will pursue a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Georgia State University and then an MBA. She has a huge heart to serve her community and aspires to start a nonprofit organization that will support the homeless in Atlanta and surrounding cities.

DE'NAISHA is not only intelligent but very involved with activities outside of academics. She plays volleyball, member of DECA, works on the weekends, and a member of Cultivating GEMS, Inc. She has also been in the National Honor Society for several years.


One of De'Naisha's goals is to travel abroad and experience different cultures. We are proud to have her as a GEM!

SEPTEMBER 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

DESTINY HOLMAN  is a freshman at Houston County High School. She attends Hope Church where she has grown in her walk with Christ. and shares the love of Christ with others. She not only has an amazing outgoing personality, but she is smart as well! Destiny has been on the Honor Roll for the past 4 years and continues to strive for excellence in everything that she does. She has exemplified amazing leadership abilities through her involvement as a chapter officer with Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and her student council. Her talents are also shared on the basketball court!

Destiny's goal is to attend college and become a home designer and entrepreneur. She will continue to help others and make a difference in her community!  

AUGUST 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

A'MONIQUE  FRANKLIN is a senior who balances her role as a new mother while maintaining the honor roll. She has received numerous awards for academics and leadership. Recently, she received the Beat the Odds scholarship. Her gentle spirit, strong determination, and love for others are qualities that will sustain her for a lifetime! 

A'monique is a member of New Sardis Church and volunteers with Inner Light in Memphis, TN. She plans to attend the University of Memphis in Fall 2019 and pursue a major in Nursing or Criminal Justice.

Ultimately, her goal is to live for Christ and continue to raise her beautiful daughter, Cymphany, to be an amazing woman one day!

MAY 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

BROOKE B. AVANT  is a sophomore at Bolton High School who continuously strives for academic excellence. This is evident through her Honor Roll achievements and excellent conduct. She is also a member of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club, which allows her to be surrounded by students with the desire to have careers in the medical field. Brooke also participates in extracurricular activities, such as soccer.

She defines success as having the ability to be a positive role model in her community,  support her family and inspire other young women who wish to become doctors. When she graduates from high school, she plans to attend college and become an obstetrician-gynecologist, OB-GYN. 

APRIL 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

SIERRA LEONE PILE is an outstanding senior at North Clayton High School. She has exemplified amazing leadership abilities and scholastic achievements. While maintaining an Honor Roll status, she serves as the president of the FCCLA, Co-founder of the Green Team, SGA Member-at-Large, Football and Basketball manager!

Sierra is also ServSafe and Microsoft PowerPoint certified. She has plans to attend a university to pursue a career as a physical therapist. She is passionate about academics, becoming a trainer and helping others!

Her sweet demeanor and personality is a joy to be around!  

MARCH 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

NYLA ELIZABETH  MOORE is a sophomore at Dacula High School and a very talented athlete who plays basketball and runs track. When she's not on playing sports, she mentors her peers and participates in Pearls and DLT.

NYLA comes from a tight-knit family who loves to laugh and support one another. So it's no surprise that her sense of humor and laid back personality is a joy to others. She also loves Jesus and is a member of Christ the King Church. 

Her plans after high school are to attend college and receive a full athletic and academic scholarship to pursue her degree in Sports Management! 

FEBRUARY 2018 GEM OF THE MONTH

JUSTYCE PURNELL is a junior at Rocky River High School where she excels academically. She also plays basketball and is apart of several leadership organizations. 

JUSTYCE actively volunteers at Elevation Church and attends a small group with her peers. 

This summer she will intern at the Mecklenburg Mentee Recreational Center. After graduating from college, she aspires to have a career in Sports Marketing!
